CASE Construction Equipment at Bauma 2025: Innovation, Electrification, and the Spirit of Rock
This article has been supplied.
CASE Construction Equipment made a powerful statement at Bauma 2025, the world’s leading construction equipment trade fair, showcasing its most forward-looking portfolio to date. With new electrified machines, remote operation concepts, digital platforms, and even a one-of-a-kind machine inspired by rock icon James Hetfield, CASE is setting a bold course for the future of construction.
New Machines for a Changing Industry
CASE unveiled a broad range of machines designed to meet the needs of today’s evolving job sites—blending performance, sustainability and operator-first thinking:
• CX210ZQ: A full-size electric excavator developed with MOOG, a global leader in precision motion technology and electrification. Featuring a modular ZQUIP battery system, it enables rapid battery swaps and uninterrupted performance across intensive applications.
• CX38D: A highly maneuverable compact excavator ideal for urban projects, equipped with electro-proportional controls and guided by Hemisphere’s GNSS-based machine tracking and positioning system for maximum precision.
• 421G & 1021G+ X-DRIVE Wheel Loaders: These models deliver intuitive control and smooth operation. The 1021G+ introduces X-DRIVE, a next-generation CVT drivetrain that improves fuel economy while adapting to various loading tasks.
• 580SV Evolution Backhoe Loader: Combining power and precision in a compact footprint, the 580SV Evolution features a Direct Drive transmission, Power Boost, Comfort Steer, and a redesigned cab for better visibility and reduced noise. It’s built for versatility—offering fast travel, responsive hydraulics, and reduced operator fatigue across loader and backhoe functions.
• Electric Mini Equipment: CASE’s zero-emission compact machines offer instant torque, low noise levels, and up to 8 hours of autonomy—ideal for sensitive environments, such as urban construction zones or indoor job sites.
Impact: A Vision of the Future
At Bauma 2025, CASE unveiled Impact, a bold new concept: a fully electric compact wheel loader with no cab, operated remotely from a dedicated control lounge.
Designed for safety, precision and inclusivity, Impact allows operation in extreme environments and can be used by individuals with physical limitations. Featuring a real-time perception system and semi-autonomous functions like automated digging and dumping, it represents CASE’s forward-thinking approach to construction technology.
Tech Room: Connectivity and Intelligence at Work
At the heart of CASE’s stand was the Tech Room—a showcase of digital tools and connected solutions designed to transform the way customers interact with their machines:
• myCASEConstruction: A new all-in-one digital platform and app offering centralized access to fleet data, documentation, service records and dealer communication.
• SiteConnect & Connect Center: A suite of connected services enabling remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance and efficient service scheduling via CASE’s dealer network.
• MYCNH STORE: A streamlined eCommerce solution for fast, convenient spare parts ordering.
Visitors also explored CASE’s Machine Control & Guidance systems through interactive simulators powered by Hemisphere, highlighting how automation and precision technologies improve productivity and operator performance.
Tailor-Made Engineering: Special Applications Division
Through its Sampierana Special Applications division, CASE continues to deliver custom-engineered solutions for unique site conditions:
• CX135E XRD: The world’s most compact high-reach demolition excavator, capable of operating a 700 kg attachment at 13 meters height with a retractable undercarriage for tight access jobs.
• CX24D with Two-Piece Boom: A compact mini excavator with enhanced lifting performance and reach, without increasing overall machine dimensions—extending CASE’s leading mini and midi excavator range.
CASE x James Hetfield: When Rock Meets Earthmoving
In a creative collaboration bridging machinery and music, CASE unveiled a one-of-a-kind SV340B skid steer loader inspired by Metallica frontman James Hetfield. The machine’s distinctive grey camouflage and skull-and-wings motif reflect Hetfield’s personal aesthetic—echoing his Snakebyte guitar, tattoo art and hot rod pinstriping.
This special-edition machine follows CASE’s earlier partnership with Hetfield and the All Within My Hands Foundation, which included the presentation of a custom TV450B at the Helping Hands charity concert in 2024.
CASE: Innovation Built on Legacy
Since 1842, CASE has empowered construction professionals with practical innovations. At Bauma 2025, the company reaffirmed its commitment to smarter, more sustainable and more connected equipment—designed around real-world challenges and powered by customer insight.
